Underprotection is a perfect example of a sustainable brand that makes us really happy. Just have a look at their sexy bras, their fashionable bodies and their colourful kimonos and tell us you’re not in love! The best news is that all of their products are made in a fair way and with sustainable materials. Underprotection uses delicate fabrics in such a way that their products will stay in good shape, also after washing them several times. In this way you can enjoy your lovely sustainable purchase for a long time.
So why this brand?
For some of their products Underprotection uses recycled polyester, which takes less energy to produce than what is needed for ‘new’ polyester. Their recycled polyester is OEKO-TEX certified.
Next to creating beautiful products in a fair matter, Underprotection uses a ray of sustainable materials. And we are not just talking about organic cotton (GOTS certified) or Lyocell. Fibers are extracted from sour milk and banana leafs, which are turned into fabric. With this, Underprotection turns waste of banana farmers and the dairy industry into something useful.
Underprotection works with Charita, a young woman who owns a small factory in New Delhi where the collections of Underprotection are being produced. Charita shares the same values concerning the production of clothes and the working environment and is working with Underprotection since the beginning in 2010. Underprotection’s production is certified by the Fair Wear Foundation.
